Divorce in Texas…Taking way too long?
Husband and wife file for divorce. Shortly after the wife finds out the husband is seeing someone else so she re-files divorce papers on terms of infidelity. They both get lawyers and decide to do a settlement. They both agree, she gets the house, and he pays 1500 monthly alimony for 6 months. All that’s left is the signing of the papers. He signs and starts paying her the money. Months later still no word. He can’t get in touch with his lawyer so he goes to the ex wife. She says something in the document was worded wrong so they needed to re write it and re sign it. Well a year later and still no divorce. He payed her all the alimony and thousands of dollars to the lawyer. Ex wife claims she cant get intouch with her lawyer either and then he finds out that all is left is for her to sign the papers. Then he finds out if its not signed within a certain amount of time then it needs to go back to court. Is his lawyer legally responsible for seeing this gets finished or did she just take the money and run? He’s going to write the board a complaint. Seems if they both agreed to something then it should be done. Obviously there is a reason for her dragging it out.

file a grievance with the bar association. The attorney should see that all of this is done. He/they are milking the situation.
